Nexium Cost What the &#!?#$

Well I just went to pick up my first perscription of Nexium. My medical insurance is Kaiser and its pretty good $20.00 copay and when I was on Prlosec RX (the generic) it was also $ 10.00 a month. Well I walked up to the counter and the lady went to fetch it and came back a couple of minutes later and said it will be just a minute. I hand her my debit card and she saids that will be $ 90.00 I said Excuse me did I hear you right and she repeated it. I asked her how long the supply was and she said 90 days.

I paid it obviously and walked out. I called my hyusband and he told me why didn't you get it by monthly refill because  $ 90.00 is an awful lot to pay at once. I told him of course I was in such shock and I was not thinking.....Oh well next time....a buck a pill with insurance

When I got back to work I realized that it was not generic. Does not Nexium come in a generic form I thought all meds did but maybe I am mistaken....

All I can say is it better work

Oddly, I just started Nexium because on my mail order plan it is less money than Protonix. It depends on your insurance formulary plan, but you should be able to obtain a copy of the formulary and choose medications based on what is covered... which let's admit sucks....but it will let you know in advance what costs what.

Mail order plans offer the best discounts though.

I was on Nexium for 4 months. I paid $20 a month (30 days) for the copay. Then effective 9/1, our insurance didn't cover it anymore and I'm on Prevacid SoluTabs now for $20 for 30 days. I still have problems with constipation since I went back on Prevacid. At one point I went off of it to see if I still needed it.

I wanted to see if the Pepcid AC would work as well and not cause the hair loss and constipation, but I see the Prevacid is causing hair loss and constipation, just like the Nexium did.

I decided to stay on the Prevacid for another 60 days and then go off and try the Pepcid AC. I don't want to have to be on an PPI forever.

I've never done mail order because I hear things get messed up and I have enough problems without that.

Hi Again

So far I have on 20mg of Nexium since Wednesday so around 5 days and I am starting to see an improvement....Just thought I would share that wtih you. Last night (watching carbs) I had a salad and a very lean piece of steak and I had no issues with it going down. What seems to cause the worst stress is feeling the vitamins go down. I am though drinking more water with them.

I also wanted to add as I mentioned in a prior post I quit drinking my diet soda and am still on 74 oz of water and it is amazing how that has helped.

It has not only helped with HB but with other things. My lips don't get as dried out ast they use to and I run 3 miles 5 times a week and the improvement on my stamina is amazing. I may increase it to 4 miles now....Its gets to the point where your body starts to crave it...All I can say is more power to it
