I have found with me, that I have to eat every 3-4 hours, or the acid in my empty stomach makes the symptoms worse. I also can not eat large amounts of food at one sitting anymore. I try to eat more often, but smaller portions. When my condition is acting up, I eat alot of a certain food that agrees with me, that may be higher in calories, but I dont care at this point. With me, its macaroni and cheese, or grilled cheese sandwiches. It doesnt seem to give me heartburn, it has some calories in it too. I am not sure about a diabetic diet...but, experiment and see what works for you.
