my 2 1/2 month old has reflux and she has stopped breathing on us a few times and has had to have cpr done to her. doctors have done an upper gi and put her on zantac and also reglan, she is also on a heart /apnea monitor to help us catch her before we have to do cpr or before we loose her.i was wondering maybe change her milk again. i don't know i am just afarid that i am goig to loose my little girl.

I am so sorry that you are having this going on with your baby... I wish I had some advice but I do not... I will keep you and your daughter in my prayers... I am sorry for everything..... But atleast she is being treated... BTW Hi and welcome to HW... Remember we are always here for you... and you and your daughter have my best thoughts coming your way....

Hi and Welcome to the healing well forum.
I am so sorry your baby is going through this, it must be a difficult time for you. Ask your doctors advice about the milk before you change.

Hi mhsumter... welcome to Healing Well.. I'm glad you found us... but I am sorry you've had to find us under these circumstances. What has your doctors said about your daughter? Is this something that she will grow out of? Surgery? Hang in there, please keep us posted on how your baby is doing.. Be well... Duck

Bridgit my daughter, her doctors are hoping she may grow out of it. they are not sure and they act like this is the first case of reflux that they have gotten that is this bad, because they all at her doctors office seemed a little confused at first. i am talking to them about seeing if changing her milk might help but her daddy and myself don't know what to do. It breaks your heart to know that you wait 9 months for a baby and doctors don't want them to come early because of breathing problems and all but both of my girls are sick and i carried them to term. my oldest just has asthma and bridgit has reflux it is just hard to handle thats all.

Anytime our kids are sick, it is very hard to handle, I completely understand..hang in there, she will be ok...the good thing is that she is getting the help she needs and you and her doctors are aware of what is wrong... you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers... be well.. Duck

bridgit is not getting better she had an edg done on thursday along with the ph probe. i have not gotten the results in yet, her meds are not working they took her off reglan and she is now just on prilosec twice a day 1.5 ml and now we have found she is not hearing and also started having seizures so my hands are full right now i am just so woried about her she is 4 months old and having all of these things go wrong.

Just want to let you know I'm pulling for your daughter and family--so sad for you all-it must all seem like one thing after another. How stressful.
I hope that your medical team can find some kind of resolution for baby Bridgit.
How is your baby in her wakeful hours?--a happy, interactive baby despite the posible hearing impairement?
I ask specifically about the hearing impairement because my 6 yr old has a severe hearing loss (next classification up from him is profound deafness) and has hearing aids--he is in everyway a normal busy boy but with a speech delay but he does talk--he has been taught to listen with the hearing he has. I can understand that you may not want to hear about this with everything else going and is probably the least of your worries but...if she is hearing impaired just keep talking to her normally, do everything you would do with a hearing child, in her face stuff but make your jestures and faces big, broad--she is learning language right now hearing or not so give her all you've got, play music dance let her see you dance, feel music, talk, talk ,talk. This will head start her a leg up when you get to that point of deciding what kind of therapy/ teaching she will receive.

Please keep updating us on her and how you're holding up.

bridgit's update, she had tubes put in on the 13th and they were hoping that would help with the hearing it has helped some she can hear loud noise and now we have to see a heart doctor, her ekg come back with some problems and they put her on keppra for her seizures and so lets see i don't know what to do cause everytime i think we are gettin a hold of everything something else pops up. she is just so little and so much to go through. thanks for your concerns and when we find out more i will let you guys know.

redface  hey bridgit is doing good, i belived we were getting her reflux under control but as it is turning out she was 14.8 lbs on nov 13 for her tubes and then on nov 28 she had a check up and she was 14 lbs and still has not gained any more. so i guess things are not getting better after all

bridgit went to see a surgen we have to have the surgery and a g-tube put in.does anyone know of sanfiers syndrome and what it is.

My prayers are with you and your daughter.  My son had lots of problems.  Acid reflux, hearing loss, development delays. He is a happy, litterally bouncing 2 1/2 year old boy.  He does go to a "special" school where I see lots of kids with some really tough starts in life.  The one thing I do notice is how happy they are.  Amazingly happy, as if they don't even know what they are going thru or have gone thru.  You are doing everything you can, and I see proof everyday of how much of a difference a parents love and commitment makes in these kids.  Please, please please take a little time for yourself, without guilt.  Even if it's just soaking your feet and putting toe nail polish on while hubby watches baby. Also, say thanks and praise to God for your family, and ask him for strength and he will be there.  Take care, my thoughts and prayers are with you

bridgit had the surgery on her stomache on firday and then had the g-tube placed so we are trying to get the hang of her having the tube right now.we just hope that she will start getting better.

Michelle and Bridget....my heart goes out to you and your little Bridget. My grandson ( 8 mo old) also has acid reflux and is on Zantac right now and he seems to be doing better.

I sincerely hope this surgery works for her...did she have the fundo wrap? We all pray that her problems will get better with the surgery. God bless you both.
