HI...
I was just like your husband, and I didnt want to go to the Dr. because I was afraid of whatever tests they would put me through to get the proper meds that I needed. Please urge him to go before he does some real damage to his esophagus. If I had known how simple it would have been to get the meds in the first place, I would have gone much earlier. Many people suffer from this, and the Dr. just talked to me and prescribed something for me. The problem is that I waited a long time, and my esophagus has suffered. I am getting better, but it is a long road. In the meantime, have him try the prilosec otc. That worked really good for me for awhile....but, eventually that did not even work for me anymore. If I dont get better in a few months, then I will have to have the dreaded tests. Tell him to go now before his condition worsens to the point of damaging his esophagus and having to have tests and be on meds for a long time.
Good Luck!
