Since I have had GERD/Heartburn I have had this strange pain in my back that I associate with GERD because it tends to stand out more when it flares up. It has changed over time and it isn't the same all the time.
Sometimes it feels like something I swallowed isn't going down the esophogus all the way. Kinda stays right there somewhere and it pains and it almost feels like a back pain.
Other times it is a dull pain in the same area. It is on my righthand side, right below the shoulder blade and inbetween the spine. Sometimes getting a massage in that area helps. The dull pain almost feels like when you are depressed and have that "love sick" feeling. But I'm not either of those then or now.
I'm trying to figure out exactly what it is. I don't know if that is where my esophogus meets my stomach or if it is where my intestine meets my stomach. I have a small theory that I am trying to test out. I have had some major muscle knots in that area and I wonder if back muscle nots and muscle strains in the back play a part GERD by putting pressure on those organs like overweight puts pressure on the stomach. It is just a theory, but just throwing it out there.
