Friendly, The reflux is also much better. Mine was pretty bad. When they did the PH probe, the acid was coming all the way back up into my throat. If I had not had it done, my esophagus would have had some pretty serious damage to it. Now, I don't feel like I have a sewer backing up in my throat.
Has your physician suggested a PH probe yet? They usually do this before they do the surgery since this is a surgery they don't take lightly. I also had a hiatal hernia repair at the same time. Unfortunately because of my asthma, I guess during a bout of bronchitis not too long after surgery, I tore it and I now have a sliding hiatal hernia which I plan to keep.
I spent time at Vanderbilt University Hospital last summer where I found out that I also have epilepsy. I asked several of the doctors there about having had the lap Nissen and still having to take the Nexium and they all said that was pretty normal.
If you have any more questions, just let me know.
Take care!
