esophagus problems/chest pains

Anyone here diagnosed with esophageal motility problems?  Mine cause terrible chest pains.  so I have this, as well as the GERd.

have you heard of anyone getting surgery for esophageal motility problems?

Because I can't continue living like this!  I'm in constant pain every time I eat, I burp frequently, and I have vigorous reflux.  Am so tired of this crap.

friendlygal, I'd have the Nissen Fundoplication done if I were you. You've dealt with enough. I can't imagine my GERD being as bad as yours.

  I know how you feel.  I am sooo sick and tired of this condition.  I dont know if i have a motility problem...but i have sooo many horrible symptoms from this, and they just keep getting worse.  It has consumed my entire life.  I just want my life back, but it doenst seem possible.

  I have terrible esophageal spasms in my chest, back and throat.  I have problems swallowing.  I had an upper gi taken which showed that i have a hiatal hernia, LPR, gerds and gastritis.  The doctor chnaged my meds from prtonix to nexium.  Ive been on nexium for abougt a week and half but I have not noticed any change as of yet.  From everything Ive read, the LPR does best wtih 2 doses a day, however my dr doesnt think so....but, I tend to disagree with her.  I cant take 2 doses because my insurance doesnt cover it, and she gave me free samples for a month, so if i go thru them too soon, im out.

  I am so sick of living like this.  It seems like I just keep getting new symptoms.  I also have plugged ears now too.

  Im sooo depressed over all of this! 

Halls, I did a manometry test to find out about the motility problem.  But, I am soooo confused because a GI I went to last week told me that I do not have a motility problem.  But 2 others said that I do...
