Ok, had the endo done this morning with the Bravo Ph probe which is now in me for 2 days!

The results of my endo were good. There is no sign of any damage and my esophagus looks really good. My hiatal hernia is still small and doesn't appear to to be causing any problems. I have small polyps inside the esophagus and he did a biopsy of them just in case, although he said that is quite normal to have a few of them.

My esophagus hurts like the dickens right now. Every time I swallow I get a pinch and it hurts so bad, but seeing I've had a tube put down there, a PH probe clipped on, and polyps removed for a biopsy i can only conclude that the pain I feel is normal. So, I'm eating soft foods for the rest of the day.

So, is this odd or what? I mean, with all the heartburn and misery I've had you'd think I'd have something wrong with me!!!!!!!! I guess we will just wait for the results of Ph Bravo. So strange!

I would think it would be normal for you to be feeling a little pain considering what you've been through today.  I've never known anyone personally who has had the Bravo.  Keep us posted.

Well, that is it, I'm in Hell! I guess when i got the biopsy the Doctor scraped the walls of my esophagus to get a sample. Well, it hurts so bad today I can't function. And so doing this Bravo is going to be a waste cause I'm suppose to push this little button when I feel pain from Gerd. Well, I'm feeling pain from yesterday's procedure so how the heck am I suppose to distinguish the difference?? UGH!

Halls,

Surely it won't be a complete waste.  They had to know you were going to be in pain today.  That camera is there for a reason.  Let me try to rationalize it for you this way.  The two times I have had to go into the seizure monitoring unit at Vanderbilt University Hospital where I am wired and videoed, they tell me to push the little button every time I think I have seizure activity.  Well, sometimes I do and sometimes I get tired or go to sleep and it doesn't matter, that's what the camera is for.  I think your camera will do the job for you also.

I know it's hard to stay positive when you hurt like hell.

thanks, I'm pretty miserable today as well and the test is over today. I think I had reflux yesterday which is good/bad. But this test sure did hurt. I can't do anything but lay around. But at least now I will know if I need the surgery or not and can move on one way or the other.

I have had many endo's and none ever hurt later. Also, tons of biopsies. The Dr. told me that you would not be able to tell where the biopsies were if you went back in the next day. But I did have worse heartburn after for a very long time and found a few other people that said the same thing. The Doctors claimed that was impossible. Yeah, right so it could be the acid bothering the esophagous or something to do with the Bravo or they could have been too rough with you. I know I had it that one time and the PPI's made it worse.
