had h polyri bug though i was cured ..... still got acid coming up to mouth

i gave my doctor a stool sample and they said i had the h polyri bug, so they gave me the tripe treatment which i did and thought i was on the mend, so then i had an edoscopy they said there is nothing wrong with my stomach no ulcer,no hernia,no inflamation ? then my doc we carn,t do nothing as we dont know whats wrong with you ? so take nexium twice a day. so why is my acid so bad ? i weight 80 kg, i eat well i dont eat 3 hours before bed, i work and go to gym 4 times a week what am o doing wrong i wake up with a sore throat in the morning then once i eat i get acid coming straight up to my laryx its gettin on my nerves me life style is crap . sad

Hello bokbok....uh, so correct me if I am wrong in thinking this, but you are still having issues, and your doctor says he is not able to help you? I am sorry if that is happening to you, and if it is, please, I'd suggest finding a new doctor. There is no reason you should have to suffer.

Unfortunetly, I don't have an answer to your question...I was just floored at the thought of your doctor giving up on you...(at least that is the impression I am getting.)

thanks for that i used to suffer from panic attacks about 3 years ago put i got over that, then this started about a year ago from a waking up with a sore throat in the morning to acid burning my laryx rather than having acid problems i sooner have a broken leg all the time eyes but i told the doctor you always get to the bottom of things when you PAY FOR IT, as i live in the uk you dont after pay for health care but they dont rush. he has out me on nexium as i was on ppi,s 30ml,when i get some money i,m off private stuff that doctor i told him your not suffering i am,  i,m sick of people thinkings ITS ONLY A BIT OF HEARTBURN !!! if only thats what it is. sad

Hi bokbok,

I think you need a new dr.!  I was diagnosed with H. Pylori just a few weeks back from an endoscopy.  I have the same issues you do, and they are not pleasant.  Anyway, I am on an antibiotic to kill the bacteria, and my GI specialist also gave me a repeat on the meds for another 4 months!  I could not believe it.  She told me it can take up to a year to rid yourself of this bacteria, and the odds of it coming back are quite good.  I know of someone who did rid themselves of it, but it took them 6 months and they are have been much better for a year now.  I have been on the meds for almost a month now, and am a lot better, not 100%, but much better.  I have not woken up with a mouth full of acid for over a week now!  It feels great.  I also am sleeping through the night again.

How long were you on your meds for?

hi i was on ppi,s for 8 months before they said i had the bug then i went on a course of antibiotics for 1 week the ones they give for stomach, and ppi,s then after the week i started to feel better then past couple of days its all started creeping back . acid taste in mouth, heartburn but when i went for endoscopy he said he carn,t seeing any thing wrong ? no hernia no ucler no inflamation ? should i have carried on taken ppi,s or some other suppressent ? as i,m on rantindine nowbut i,m going to get adifferent doctor but both of them are crap . thanks

Hi Bok,

WOW! What you must be going through. I has some family that lives in the UK and know some of the health care is not the best, or takes forever to see anyone.

Have they told you anything beside having H.Pylori? Or just nothing? I know my cousin is still trying to find out what is wrong with him and it has taken a year and still nothing.

I know you said they did not find anything, but did the redo the test for H Pylori?

hi no they not done that i,m going to give a stole sample next week, so as it could be that, i dont seem to have anything wrong with they say, i,m 34 i weight 80 kilo,s i go to gym 4 days a week i eat bland meals of course i dont eat 3 hours before i go to bed dont drink i dont drink loads of caffine i carnt really do much more part from DONT EAT ! :-)   and yet i still have a acid taste in my mouth and throat . they are carp over here in the uk they just want me to take ppi,s and not keep going to my gp but i,m changing gp this week , cheers

Bok.... Maybe your test will show you still have H Pylori. Hope they have answers for you soon. Looks like you are doing what needs to be done as far as the eating and all that. We all have to eat. But know sometimes I don`t even feel like it do to the acid and even pain at times.



Yes, my family says the medical there is not good at all. Well they have said more then that. Just not going to repeat it on the boards here. Would get kicked off that is for sure.
