I read a thread about
someone who stopped eating dairy products and sugar to reduce the burning in his throat. Does any one know whether dairy can be substituted for soy? Does soy have the same ill effects as dairy and sugar?
Thanks,
Amanda

Amanda,
I am not sure, but it has gotten to the point that I can't drink regular milk anymore. So I drink soymilk, it has a lot of nutrients in it so I don't feel like I am missing much. I also take calcium tablets.

I feel the same way. I stopped eating dairy, though I miss it, i certainlyl don't miss the awful symptoms I was getting. Also make sure you take magnesium with your Calcium.

Amanda27,
YES. I have done it well. I would also look into Almond and Rice milk.
Look regular milk is mostly treated with cows fed antibotics. Those antibotics kill good bacteria in your intestine. That means more fungus grows in your intestine. This leads to the IBS and GERD connecition with some people mostly GERD if not all GERD. Therefore, if you do have milk I would have organic milk. For my dairy intake I usually have some good yogurt that puts "good bacteria" back into your body.
