Just diagnosed need some additional information I cant find please

Hello,

I was just diagnosed with GERD after a couple months of stuff coming up my nose and mouth as I slept. I barely woke up in time last night and I really spooked me. I guess I can't eat after 6 pm anymore and i gotta somehow prop my bed up.. Anyways, Im confused because I have no heartburn, no sore throat, no nausea, I feel fine. Even as the stuff is coming up I feel fine.

I got another appointment Monday and I guess they are going to decide if they are going to put a camera in me.. I told my ex wife to make sure I'm alive when she drops off my son in the mornings.. I mean I barely woke up last night in time I dont know whats going on.

I just searched the forums, every post and I dont see anyone with my issue :( I just have a question I guess on how to maybe raise my bed up..I have a tube waterbed and its very heavy and I dont know what to do tonight :(

They make bed risers that will rise it the 4-6 inches you need. I got mine at linens and things. Its kinda like sleeping on a ski slope but it helps!

Ty, I will look for the wedge pillows as well.

I'm doubting the doctors diagnosis I think I have a Hiatus Hernia which is like GERD but with no heartburn and some times no symptoms at all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiatus_hernia

I will update after I find out more on Monday in case someone else has this problem.

Phil,
I have the same problem as you when sleeping. I have liquid/acid in my mouth and nose but mine hurts like crazy. I have been diagnosed with GERD for 6 months, and I was on alll kind of PPI's and didn't work well. I finally went for an incisionless surgery called esophyx. Just have it done 2 days ago. Still have a lot of pain

Thanks for the welcome and kind words. The doctors are leaning towards me having a Hiatus Hernia...its really close to GERD. I have to take Nexium every day and whatnot. I have my Barium swallow on the 31st and will keep updating to help anyone who happens to read this.
