HI

 

I'm having a hernia repair and lap nissen done at the end of January. Has anyone had this surgery then gotten pregnant? My plan was to hopefully get pregnant in January, now maybe June??? I'm wondering if anyone has had a baby after having this procedure and was there any problems?? My first pregnancy was FULL of nausea, VOMITING and dry heaves!!!!! I'm SOOO nervous.  At this point I don't know what is worse, dealing with this pain, etc and being pregnant or having the procedure done, then getting pregnant and not being able to vomit!?! HELP

Hit there Alycarr...I am wondering...you are not pregnant now, correct? I would say get the procedure, and put off getting pregnant for a bit longer. I wouldn't suggest having the procedure, and then rushing into getting pregnant. Please, keep us posted on what is going on with you! We are here for you!

My surgeron told me I couldnt ever get pregnant because he had a girl that did and it caused so much pressure on the wrap that it did burst. So I would really talk to your surgeon about this. I had my husband have a vascetomy because I didnt want to risk having to redo the surgery.

Great advice nocough...and yes, I definately think that talking to the surgeon is a great idea. And, I think I gave backward advice....have a baby, then get the procedure! LOL. That was my mistake. Could you wait a year or so to have the procedure, and try to get pregnant now? Are you planning on having this be your last pregnancy?

I'm meeting with my surgeon the 2 week of January. So I will talk to him them about all of this. Thanks guys for your input!
