I moved this post so others will see it, and maybe give you some help... I need some help!!!  My son who just turned 3 had a Nissan placed back in Feb.  He is constantly complaining of stomach pain before, during and after he eats.  He did wonderful during his surgery and had very little problems following surgery.  He was on the puree diet for 3 months and dropped from 30 lbs down to 22 lbs which is a lot for at that time a 2 year old.  By August he was back up to 32 lbs when he got sick and dropped again to 23 lbs.  He had another upper GI which the surgeon said was fine.  My husband and I started giving him pediasure and multivitamins and he now weighs 26 lbs but he is in misery all of the time.  I cut what little food up he eats into small pieces but I can't get him to eat much.  The doctors are not concerned about his weight loss but as a mother of 3 I know this is not normal.  I am worried not only about his weight loss but lack of nutrition which could cause decline or decreased brain development.  He is 3 like I said and can wear 18 month sized clothes.  He is a twin and his twin wears 4T and is growing/eating normally.  We recently got a consult with a gastroenterologist and he felt that my son was constipated and that was why he was not eating so he put him on miralax stating that because of the high fat diet he was constipated.  He wants to see him back in 6 months and if the miralax does not help with the stomach issues he wants to do another scope to see if he can find anything not picked up on the upper GI.  I hate to put him through another procedure but I feel as though something is not right.  Can anyone give me any suggestions as to how I can help my son.

My daughter had a nissen when she was 2 (she is now 9). She didn't have the problems you describe. When she had her nissen the surgeon told me that some children can't handle milk products. I would try buying things for lactose intoleranance and maybe this would help with the stomach pain. Also could he be eating to much at one time? Try giving him very small meals/snacks every hour or so. This might help. I also had a nissen just over 2 weeks ago and if I eat to much at one sitting I get pain for quite awhile. I hope this helps some.
