Hi

 

Anyone else have ulcers in their esophagus? What do you do when you have symptoms. I woke up yesterday with such a TERRIBLE pain in my stomach. I could tell my stomach was cramping and I had this terrible taste in my mouth just like when my ulcers started to bleed!  Anyone else have or had this problem? I'm having my lap nissen/hiatal hernia repair Jan 28...will this help my ulcers. I forgot how much this hurts!! HELP

Yes, your surgery will help your ulcers heal. My esphagus was in really bad shape before I had the nissen on 10/22. On 12/18 I had an endoscopy for a gallbladder issue. The endoscopy showed a normal, healthy esophagus. That means all damage done by years of acid reflux was gone in two months.

Sorry I can't help with any suggestions for the pain you are having now. I just suffered with it and drank tepid water constantly because ice cold or hot drinks hurt. All I can give you is the reassurance that it should go away after the 28th.
