Hi everyone, I am new here, and I am so happy that I am not alone with these problems. I had no idea what was going on with me, as I have been fighting another disease called Lichen Planus Errosive, when I started having the feeling of a lump in my throat. At first I just thought it was nerves due to stress. Then I started having more and more difficulty with swallowing, followed by sometimes having to take tums. Which went on for a while, but I tried to explain it to doctors it was like; lets ignore that until we get the rest of you better.
So time went on, when it would feel like nothing I ate was digesting. I could eat a small breakfast and still feel full come dinner time. The scare finally came when my stomach would suddenly cramp up and burn from eating. If I ate too much I would throw up, and then there were days that swallowing water became difficult. Finally after telling my doctor once again, and adding that I have lost 10 pounds in 3 months, she sent me to a specialist.
So on the 16th of April, the specialist will be going down my throat and stomach to look around and take a biopsy of both. He said it was GERD, but because of my other illnesses it could also be immflamed from the arthritis, or scarred from the lichen planus, or the meds I am on is wrecking havoc on my whole system. He also said that the esopagus is lax, and isn't working properly. Plus my stomach and esopagus goes into spasms. Oh and I have to lose weight as I am too fat, cause that can effect the esopogus too. Interesting.
I am eating minumally, not much in each meal, and softer the better. I have no idea, if I am doing something good or not, just know that when I eat a little I don't throw up, and when I eat soft foods it seems to go down better. It sucks... and yea I am overweight, but this isn't a fun way to lose it. LOL LOL
I feel so hungry all the time, and frustrated to no end. I try smoothies but the fruit effects my gums, which are messed up due to the Lichen Planus, and I am getting tired of mashed potatoes. soup comes back up too easily, and I am surprised the temperature of food can cause spasms. I a looking for a little re-assurance that I am not going nuts, and all this is treatable.
Thank you in advance for replying
