Julie - your post is VERY timely. Since I last made that post in mid-August, I have been through hell and back. My gatro-enterologist gave me an antibiotic for 10 days. After ten days I felt remarkably well and had an enormous appetite. Well, after about a week, I'm feeling not myself again. Not as bad as before, but definitely something is off.
They did a Celiac test and it came back negative HOWEVER, my regular doctor did another test for antibodies, can't remember the name of the test - but that came back so low, that makes the Celiac test INCONCLUSIVE.
So my gastro doctor called yesterday and said if it continues, he will do another endoscopy and biopsy to find out, once and for all, if I do indeed have Celiac. Whew! What a long darn road.
I guess I COULD go on a gluten-free diet myself and see how I feel - as you did! No one in my family has this problem - I'm 56 years old. I've been able to eat everything and anything. It could still be a bug, but the more I read about gluten, the more I just feel like my symptoms may fit that profile. I also have VERY dry skin, which I hear is a symptom. And this all started with a back pain. Anyway, thank you so much for your post!!
