insurance for fundoplication

Hey, I was wondering, has anyone had difficulty with their insurance company helping to pay for your Nissan Fundoplication? I am waiting for my surgeon to call today, I think my surgery will be next Thursday. The literature I read recommends surgery when you have sever GERD with Barretts and Gastritis and are no longer responding to medication.

Hi amo, Kitt is right, your insurance will determine your coverage; in my case it covered everything. I have BCBS and went out of state to Cleveland Clinic. In some instances your insurance company will cover more if you have referrals and letters of medical necessity from your Doctors. Your first stop is to call your insurance company and find out..make sure you have diagnosis codes and procedure codes, or, have your Doctor's office do it for you, but make sure you double check.
