I started taking probiotics for the first time a few months ago. Shortly after I started taking them I would feel a pain in my lower back after a few hours of sleeping. This pain would occur in my right lower back and sometimes migrate to my right side and sometimes migrate to my right waist area in the front. By the way, I have only one kidney, which is my right kidney. Suspecting that the probiotics were causing this pain, I stop taking them completely. The described pain in my lower right back, right side, and right front while sleeping almost completely went away, but once in awhile I get a flareup of this same pain while sleeping. I had a flareup of that pain last night, which has prompted me to write.
I have not taken any probiotics in a few months, but could the probiotics that I took before still be causing me this occasional pain? If so, how can I get those probiotics completely out of my system?
By the way, fortunately I don't have GERD or heartburn, but I didn't know where else to post a question about probiotics.
