Nausea and Vomiting won't stop, please help me.

Hi, I am a 31 year old female.  For the past 2 months I've been feeling nausea and am actually vomiting, one day I vomited 7 times.  The docotor says I have GERD.  Do others out there have this type of symptoms?  I don't know what to do?  I am scared of all the vomiting that is happening, can GERD cause vomiting?

I started taking Zofran ODT 4mg yesterday, but nothing has changed.  I thought Zofran was suppose to work instantaneously. 

Please help me.

psun, welcome. Chronic vomiting is not a symptom that I'm aware of, I'm hoping someone else here will know more; I'd like to know if you've had any testing to confirm reflux such as a 24 hour ph.

Zofran will work on nausea and works fairly quickly, my concern lies in the frequency that you are vomiting, there are meds that can be given to stop that. You may want to contact your Dr. and let him/her know that your situation as not improved. Are you seeing a GP? If so, you do need to get to a gastroenterologist...and soon!

Welcome. Before I was diagnosed with GERD, I had nausea as well. But I didn't vomit, just felt like something was in my throat.

I had a lot of problems with vomitting with my GERD. Whenever a medication wouldn't work anymore I would start vomitting until I would vomit the acid in my stomach. Sometimes I still couldn't stop vomitting and would just heave up nothing.

Fashionista, doesn't that just feel so horrible, I feel like I am dying : (. I don't know much about treatment for GERD yet, since it just happened. But is there a permenant cure for it? Taking medication for the rest of our lives just don't seem like a good solution.

Welcome to HealingWell and the GERD/Heartburn forum. I am sorry to hear you are having these issues with the vomiting.

In rare cases, vomiting can occur as often as once a day. All other causes of chronic nausea and vomiting should be ruled out.  Please see your physician if you are experiencing this chronic vomiting for a medical check up.

Remember I am not a professional but I do not like to hear that you are having these episodes so please to seek help.
