Hi. My dd had it. She tried Zantac and Axid but Prevacid was the only thing that helped. She's 17 months old and still takes Prevacid. She was breastfed and I supplemented with a hypoallergenic formula, Similac Alimentum Ready to feed. It's been the hardest thing I've had to do, taking care of a reflux baby. It affected everything. I am an advocate for medicating if they truly need it. Reflux in infants can cause breathing problems(they can aspirate on the acid), feeding aversions, failure to thrive, on top of the other stuff that adults get too. I read about
an 18 month old online that was not medicated and then she had a scope done and they found out that her esophagus was really damaged. She was so small, failure to thrive, delayed in speech and other milestones. I don't mean to scare you but I thought I'd put it out there because I know a lot of parents are afraid of meds. But sometimes they really need it.
I have so much to say and so many info I can give you. Just feel free to email me. Have u mentioned this to your pediatrician? My daughter sees a pediatric gastroenterologist.
I think u can email me here. Anyway, in case u can't, here's my email.
