I know what you mean about
the antibiotics. Amoxicillan is one that is gentle on my tummy, but if I let and infection go too long it usually doesn't work. The Z pac is the one you take for only 3-5 days and it works really well for me and doesn't cause tummy upset or yeast infections for me. I also take acidophilus after antibiotics which helps out your stomach too. There was one I got really sick from, but can't think of the name of it right now. They have it in my chart listed as an alergy along with the statins, aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin & welcol. I have found a way to avoid the antibiotics though for sinus infections. I use a sinus rinse 2x a day. The neal med bottle not the nettie pot. The bottle works better because it gently shoots the water up there. My doctor recommended a few years ago and my asthma doctor swears by it. For the first time since I was a teenager I went the whole winter with out a sinus infection. As soon as I feel I am coming down with something I use it 3-4 times a day and it just washes the stuff out before it can even become and infection. It also works wonders with alergies too. After you run out of the packets that come with the bottle just use 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. My doc recommended that and it works like a charm. I had a terrible day today. I don't understand when the nurse told me only the first time I went to bathroom it would really hurt. Today I went 2x about
an hour after taking a pain pill thank God or there would have been crying and hypervenalating again like Saturday. It was still awful though ( alot of OMG's were said along with lamaze breathing to get through the pain). I will be calling tomorrow to ask about
this.
Percy, I get very sick with a day to a week when taking something that doesn't agree with my stomach. Ibuprofen just 2 in one day has me doubled over with pain but the antibiotic I took was about 5 days. The niacin I took for cholesterol was just taken 2 times and I was doubled over with pain. You could try taking some acidophilus to try to straighten your stomach out. Crestor for a week caused 6 months of tummy troubles and asthma problems so I steer clear of that one. I think it just depends on the person as to what will bother you. I have found that if it says it will cause stomach up set it will in my case. Hope this helps you out. Barb
