Hi Carly,
I am scheduled for surgery on may 7th 2009.I 2 had the bravo implant done. I had no side effects.Out of curiosity,what did u score on the demester scale? I scored 21.I had 200 episodes of gerd within 48 hours. Sometimes I never pressed the button with trying to trick the computer an dometimes I didn't know I was having ger.fortunately it picked up all thee above. Hope all is well with you

Bill & Denise,
I never was given a barrium swallow and now I'm wondering why.I will call the GI 2moro. I've had 3 endos for the stricture and 1 endo for the bravo.Like I said I cudnt do the manometry for my seizure reason.But ahudnt I have gone for a barrium? Now I'm worried.Although he is the best GI in staten island Ny as we can see it does not matter how great one .I'm getting cold feet here Bill.lol.

I'm no expert, Bea, but I don't think the barium swallow is the most important of the tests. If you have a good GI surgeon, I'm sure he's order it if he thought it was necessary in your case.
Relax! You'll be amazed at how well you do!

Bea,
I wouldn't worry about the barium swallow. You may get one the day after surgery anyhow. Sometimes they do one after to see how tight the wrap is and make sure stuff can get by it. I had them because of the dysphagia and so they could see if the wrap had slipped.
Bea, we are all here for you. The surgery is going to go great. I called and set up my sick leave today. What a pain. They want to know a ton of specific details and some of the things are unknown until the surgery is done. They kept asking how long I would be off work....umm don't know. Anyhow, relax and don't worry. Just keep thinking how good it is going to feel being GERD free. Three weeks from today I should be all fixed too.

Wow what a coincidence,I did the same thing 2day for myself and my daughter.she works for the same company.on wednesday a tow truck flatbed blew a stop sign and latched on to her car.dragged her a few when he realized she was latched to his stairs he relased her and she spun out. He left the scene,then the tow truck company sent bak a diff truck and driver.Thank god for the 3 angels who witnessed this beside the fact it was all captures on video.
What a pain in the neck. I answered same q and a's.I don't know how long her neck has moved,don't know how long would u like the definition to a statement undetermined recovery period.It means exactly that.lol.

That's terrible,I hope she will be alright.
I got so tired of telling the person on the phone that I was not having the first Nissen "undone", but fixed. She insisted I must be having it undone. I finally gave in and told her Ok, he may be going to "undo" it, but then he will redo it again right afterwards. I still don't think she understood. Oh well, as long as I get paid.
I really should be sleeping....dang nerve pain. Couldn't work tonight due to taking pain meds and can't sleep either. Sure is quiet. Sorry, just rambling now.
