Let your doctor know about what happened before the Nexium, and see what he says if you have not already.

If you dont stop the Nexium, the PH probe wont give good information, and GERD may be overlooked.

If it comes up ok, then they can start looking for else. It could be something to do with your stomach, sinusues, or a combination.

Trust me, there are lots of people out here with similar symptons.

Welcome to HealingWell.  I know it is scary to go off your meds prior to the test but it is a necessity to get an accurate test.

Do try to make sure your diet is high in calories and protein.  Try eating small meals frequently.  Also be sure to use a multivitamin.

Sorry you're having so many problems. Unfortunately, once your GI tract is irritated, it takes a long time to heal. Whenever I suffered from a flare-up, my family doctor always advised me to avoid any supplements that could add to my stomach's discomfort. The less you put into your stomach that might be irritating, the better.

Everyone is different, but it's important to find gentle foods that your stomach can tolerate. You need to maintain that diet until you recover. It takes a long time, Richie. I have spent months eating carefully and babying my stomach. At times when the problem was most chronic, I would only be able to eat a very small amount of food at a time (a quarter to half cup).

It's important to be very careful with what you eat--nothing acidic, spicy, or rough (like popcorn). Remember to avoid traditional triggers like caffeine, chocolate, peppermint, alcohol, fried foods--and find which comfort foods you can manage. Eat small meals, and maintain this careful eating for a LONG TIME.

It's hard to wait...you'll be wanting to go back to your normal foods...but it's important to continue to be careful for about 2 weeks after you stomach feels all better--then introduce foods back into your diet one at a time.

I could always tell when I'd moved too soon, because my symptoms would get worse right away. For me, at the peak of my problem, egg custard was a nutritious and easily handled food. It's variable, though, and you'll have to see what works for you.
