Hi Kitt,
Well, we're doing our best to make our house look as good as it can possibly look. We couldn't keep up this pace forever! Jack is outside now planting some more grass seed...we just had a dumpster taken away with all the junk we had to get rid of (mostly from our barn--and a lot of it that was here before we moved) that was not salvageable. I don't like to throw away anything that could be reused, but this stuff was unusable. My parents lived here before us, so there was lots of stuff!!!
I've got some cleaning and planting to do today. I'll tell you, if I wasn't a teacher, and Jack wasn't laid off, we could never have done the things we've done. It has been a full time job. Hopefully it'll pay off. Our realtor thinks outside the box, and took flyers to all the businesses in both ours and a nearby town, as well as distributing it to neighbors. Our
open house is on Sunday. At the Realtor's
open on Wednesday, she's serving lunch. That's how she gets people to come to her
opens.
It's not that I don't love this place. I do. It's over six acres, on a wooded lot, next to a stream. It's beautiful and private. (What a change to move to a townhouse!) It's a lot of yard work, though, and my husband doesn't love it. Some guys do, but he just doesn't. We're getting older, and we figured we'd bypass moving to another smaller house, and go right to the townhouse. (We don't want to have to move again!) We really like the new area we're going, but wouldn't make the move just because we like the area--we like the people living there--our sons!
I just want to get it sold, now that we've made the decision. Then we'll have the money for the townhouse, which would eliminate the need for a contingency--thus allowing the special additions we want added while it is being built. Keep your fingers crossed!
Anyway...hope you have a great day! Happy day, everyone!
