Serious question. Any one else get warming sensations instead of burning.

Hey guys i'm new to this board. I've been to the doctor 5 times now and each time I'm told I have GERD. But the problem is this: I don't get a burning sensation. I get a warming sensation under my breastbone that sometimes spreads slowly upwards. The doctor says that because i'm only 26 and have never had GERD before, is the reason why it warms instead of burns. Basicaly, I'm just looking for someone else that gets this warming sensation. I'm had numerous blood tests and all my organs are fine (i was worried about my gallblader). I also get a pulsating sensation under my breastbone. I'm on protonix, kolonapan, and celexa. Any reassurance would be great.

Mine actually started just like that when I was about 19 years old. As things get worse they tend to feel worse. What I mean is, the longer it goes untreated the more tissue is damaged and then things feel worse. After a long time of reflux the esophagus can get hyper sensitive also. If this happens you can get bad heartburn that may not even be from acid, only the tissues perceives it as such.

Unusual... But for everybody there's different symtoms. How many tests have you done? Swallow, manometry, stomach emptying, endo, and bravo are the standards to see if you need surgery for it. There's two options for surgery: Nissen (which most of the people posting have had done) and EsophyX procedure (which is new). Talk with your GI and find out what are your best options. You maybe able to get by with just meds.

Hello and welcome to HealingWell and the GERD/Heartburn Forum. I am Kitt.

I have never had any warm feelings just nasty burning up into my chest and jaw.  I do take Prilosec which covers me pretty well.  Each person has some strange and unusual pain that is unique to them.
