Hello!!!!!! Can any that has had the Hida scan for your gallbladder tell me how long the test is??? Did it hurt??? Thanks... I go on Sept 4 for the scan!! Scared!!

Mine took about
an hour. They give you an iv and you lay on the bed for an hour. Towards the end they give you something to make your gallbladder contract. You can feel a tightening or get nauseous. I didn't have any problem with it. Just hard to lay that long. lol

Ronee'-babygirl is right. It's not a bad test unless you don't like IVs, I didn't have any discomfort at all. It just too a long time because mine wouldn't fill up or empty properly. Not a big deal really. You will just spend a lot of time on an uncomfortable xray type table. Sometimes on your back and maybe on your side if the bladder doesn't drain right, like mine did. Once again, no big deal, please don;t get worked up. This is an easy one to study for and take.
