Wish I had better news to post here, but things are not going well. My swallowing gets easier with each passing day, and I'm beginning to eat more solid food. But while the incisions are healing nicely, and the internal healing is going well, my symptoms are shockingly worse than before the surgery. I have had pretty bad hoarseness for the last week as well as a burning feeling or tightness in my lungs/chest. I can't confirm any regurgitation, so that at least is a good thing. I know many here have encouraged me to be patient and allow myself to heal, but I can't ignore the fact that my symptoms have gotten progressively worse over the last 10 days or so. From everything I've read here, I should begin to feel some improvement at this point as the swelling of the wrap continues to go down. It's just the opposite. I'm really pissed and disappointed, but I'm not giving up hope just yet.
Anyway, I just got off the phone with my surgeon and she's going to send me for an Upper GI to make sure that everything still looks good. I'll keep you guys posted.
Also, I've just started doubling my dose of meds just to see if that has any effect: 2 Aciphex twice a day, and 300mg Zantac at night.
I welcome your advice or comments.
Thanks.
Cheers,
J
