Bravo test question

I'm having it done on Tuesday and they said to stop taking prilosec a week before. It's been 4 days and I'm in agony! Tums or rolaids does nothing. The sheet says to stop the rx meds but what about taking zantac? Says you can take tums or rolaids up until midnight the day before.

Sorry to hear you are suffering so much. Zantac is an RX drug but OTC is not the RX dose. I would refrain from using the Zantac but that is just my gut reaction.



have you tried liquid Maalox or Mylanta instead of the chewable tabs? Sometimes they will help with the discomfort better then the tabs.

Michelle, nothing has changed since before surgery. I went for my 8 week appt and he said that it should have improved and since it hasn't, he wants me to get the tests done. He thinks the wrap might need to be dilated which to me, doesn't make sense. He's going to do an EGD and see if everything is still attached and if it is, he's going to put in the bravo capsule.

Thanks Kitt! I'm going to really try and not take anything but it's hard. I do have some liquid antacid in the fridge. I'll take that if absolutely necessary. 2 more days and I can hopefully be back on my meds.
