Hello all,
I recently have had some trouble breathing. I feel as if something is in my throat, I am not sure if it is even a piece of food, its just something. I feel as if I need to drink a lot of water in order to breathe. My throat has been dry and I have a dry cough. I think I cough so I can catch a 'good' breath. My throat was sore yesterday, and only yesterday. What is the deal?? I have been to the doctor before about
breathing, and they just shrug their shoulders, and some think it is anxiety. Help.. please!!!
Thank you all!

Hi K2009,
I'm not a doctor, so I can't tell you that what you're experiencing is definitely GERD related, but I can say that many GERD sufferers have the feeling of something stuck in their throat, which leads to the feeling that it's difficult to breathe. Many have actually been to the ER due to those symptoms. Actually, anxiety is another symptom that strikes many GERD sufferers.
Have you had any testing to determine whether or not you're experiencing reflux? It would be well worth the effort to make an appointment with a trusted primary care doctor, or GI doc, if you don't need a referral.
You're in the right place! I'm sure others will be by to post responses.
Take care, and good luck!

Hi Denise,
Thank you for replying. I have not had any testings done yet. Just wanted to get some opinions. I was planning to go to urgent care this week, considering that my primary has been shrugging her shoulders on this. (Maybe I need to switch primary's). I will def schedule an appt.
Thank you so much for the opinion.

Hi K2009,
I would agree with Good Days, that a visit to the GI doctor would be a good idea. If your primary care doctor is not listening to you in earnest, and giving you credit for having a brain and knowing your body, I do think it might be time to find a new one. It will probably take a while to get into a good GI doctor, so if you're thinking you might do that, you should get an appointment ASAP. You can always cancel if you change your mind.
Good luck getting answers to your questions. Let us know what happens!
Take care,
Denise

I went and saw a doctor on Friday. I have found out that I just have really bad allergies, I guess. He has stuck me on Flonase and claritan for now. I guess we will see what happens. Thanks for everyones help.
