Bittertaste

I have had GERD for a long time and every so often I get this horrible bitter taste in my mouth & throat.  It is very intense and lasts a long time.  I don't know what the cause is.  I swallow constantly when this happens and eat tums.  It finally goes away.  I have had this several times in the last few days.  Just wondering if anyone has this strange malady.  Thanks for any response.

Acid is often described as sour, while bile is bitter, so could be gallbladder too. Get a physician to evaluate.

In any case sounds like you are refluxing something. Keep a food log to see if you can identify food triggers for the reflux.
