Hi Kitt, how was your movie? Did your hubby have a good birthday? I had my worse day ever today. I cryed all morning at work after my boss gave me a note telling me she wants me to work every day that my grandkids are going to be here. Yesterday she asked me to work 2 of the days in the afternoon which pretty well shoots the day for going any where and they are only going to be here one week. I can't believe what a cold heartless selfish person she is. My lunch today consisted of crying all the way home and crying on my hubby shoulder and little chihuahua (aka my therapy dog)as my hubby calls him. I could have drowned the poor little thing. Lol. My husband doesn't even want to help out or go to anything at the center until she is gone now. I haven't cryed that hard since my friends funeral last year. My eyes are half swollen shut now too. Well I think it's time to go for a walk with the dogs. I plan on going to bed early tonight in the hopes of getting rid of this awful headache from all the crying. Any ideas for the swollen eyes? I hope your still doing well with your new med and therapy. I'll check back before I go to bed. Joy I hope you called your doc and are doing ok. That sucks after getting every thing else going well with your health. I'll keep you in my prayers. Barb My laundry list of diseases include, Ulcetive Colitis, GERD, chronic gastritis, Asthma, Alergies, CAD stent to LAD 1/4/05, TMJ and a deteriorating disk in lower back. Also chronic pain from a moped accident 11/9/07 which left me with back, hand, knee and foot problems and broken tailbone Jan/09. I don't think it's drug allergy. I've had reactions to penicillin and this is nothing like it.
I wake up with my face puffy and a red rash running down both sides of my face. After I take my zyrtec it starts to fade some. I only have mild itching and it's sporatic in places. Sometimes my scalp itches, too.
I have edema anyway in my legs from my thyroid issues. I can gain 10 lbs of water in a day if I don't take my lasix. I'm thinking it's more my thyroid. :(

I'm suppose to see my allergist next Wednesday. I've got to call a thyroid specialist, too.

I'm so frustrated! My body seems like it's at constant war with itself.

Barb, If I was you, I'd quit that torture place and find some place better. I wouldn't put up with the aggrevations you do. I mean really! How can anybody be so cruel!

I am so sorry you are still dealing with that "boss". I feel handing you a note was the coward's way of avoiding a conversation with you. Depending on how you feel and if your willing to gamble on not losing your position (I know you need the employment) I like lilitiger' idea. However if you go this route you have to be prepared for your boss to say " We will be sorry to see you go". I worked in management for years and I know this was the pat answer one of my Director of Nurses used whenever anyone threaten to leave over any issues. She was a tough nut to crack also.



I wish I had the magic answer for you. As for puffy eyes teaspoon-size spoons are just the right utensils for temporarily helping your eyes reduce to normal proportions. Place 4 or 6 spoons in the refrigerator. When you need to deflate those eyeballs, lie down, close your eyes, and place one spoon (curved side down) on each eye. As the spoon warms, replace it with a cold one from the fridge. :)



Joy, You sound like you are miserable. Are you able to use Benadryl for the itching? I don't know if this is compatiable with your other meds. Any chance you could be on your Allergist's cancellation list to get an appointment sooner. Yes please do make an appointment to find out about the thyroid. (((Hugs)))

Denise, Hey there, sounds like you are buring some midnight oil. I am doing good, the new medicine is still causing side effects but that is because I am still working on increasing the dose at intervals, going slow on upping this med.



So when is your last day of school. Are you having mixed feelings about saying good bye? I know I missed my job a lot but there is a good life after working for so many years.

Kitt I was wondering the same thing about Bill. Where in the world is he? I bet he's out at the ball diamond. Glad your movie was good. Thanks for all your support. I had a tear free day as I stayed away from boss and then she went to a meeting and I left for the hospital at 11:45. I had to have another MRI to see if my rotator cuff is torn in my shoulder. The injection wasn't too bad but holding my arm over my head for 10 minutes was torture and it wasn't a whole lot better when they strapped it to my side for another 30 minutes. I also had terrible chest pain to the point I was ready to tell them to stop but the thought of telling my boss I had to leave again for the same test was more scary than my chest hurting and my throat feeling like it was closing. My doctor did not listen to me and give me an ativan. He insisted on valium which did nothing as I had already suspected it wouldn't since I built up such a tolerance to that and versed from all my scopes that they no longer use it on me. It would be a whole lot easier if doctors would just listen to us. Oh well I lived through it and if I ever have to have another I will refuse unless they give me the ativan. I'm not sure yet what I am going to do about work yet. I am in such a bad position with all my health problems right now and what if I need shoulder surgery. I'm keeping options open though and I am going to stand firm on my vacation request because it is ridiculous what she is asking. I should have to come in half days every day the week my son is here. She does it to me every time he comes with my grandkids. I have to have surgery just to get time off when he comes. I always have to make the compromises and I'm tired of it. I think it is the least they can do for since they are really ripping me off by taking every thing I worked for over the last 10 years. There is also a very strong possibilty that my son will be sent to afgahnistan. I don't like to be negative but I am realistic about something happening to him over there and my granddaughters mom might not even let us see her so this is a really really important visit for us. We want to have time to make some wonderful memories my son and his family. Thanks for being so supportive and understanding.

Denise thanks for all your support. I am trying to make sure I don't lose my temper with her because that wouldn't be good. I sure wish I could retire.

Lila, I love your advice. I have to be careful though to not ruin some good references. If I won the lottery I would quit in a heart beat and maybe start my own center. I do agree with you that life is too short as I well know. Well time for bed.

Hi Kitt, I hope he's out busy with the softball and no health problems. I know we miss him when he's not here but I know how much he loves the ball games. Well tomorrow I am going to call her boss and explain the situation that will be sent to afghanistan soon and i may not see him or the grandkids again because I don't see the mom's bringing her to see us. Oh well I am not going to dwell on that. That's said about your granddaughter and great grandkids.

As for the MRI the chest pain was from anxiety because it felt the say way the first time they did it without a medication. The second time was when I took the ativan and it worked like a charm. Why can't doctors listen to the patient. Well better get to bed so I can be awake for that phone call tomorro. I hope it works because I feel entitiled to that time off I earned and want to take it on my terms.Have a good night kitt. Barb

I went to my neice's Honors ceremony last night. She got an award for highest average in spanish class.



My mom got violently ill yesterday from her Procrit shot. She had to go to the ER and get fluids and antinausea meds. She's okay today, but very sore from the constant throwing up all yesterday evening. She has been told she has lukocytopenia (low WBC and RBC). They haven't figure out what's causing it except her kidney function is down to 27%.

I've been researching it and it sounds like aplasic anemia. Her platlets are dropping slowly was 202 it's now 186. The doctor is still running tests.

Awww Bill I was hoping you were just out at the ball diamond. So sorry to hear it was your health again. I'll put you on the prayer chain again. We sure missed you around here. It's normal to get depressed when you have all the health problems coming all at once. I've been really depressed a few times and it was because of my health. It's not a fun thing to deal with. The one time it got so bad I did have to ask the doc for something. My little dog helped me through after my accident and the surgeries last year. I about drowned the little guy on Tuesday when I was so mad and frustrated with my boss that I came home for lunch and cried as I held him. Do you still have your Gizmo the cat? I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Kitt, I talked to my boss's boss yesterday and she said they had already talked about it and came up with the half day schedule together. I explained to her how every time my son comes she does this half day here and there stuff. I told her how I try to give as much notice as possible, but the Marine Corps is the one who decides when he can come and they don't give a whole lot of notice. I told her I don't even get to talk to my granddaughter now that she lives with her mom and I haven't seen her since October. I think I got through to her with that. She said we will have to all 3 sit down next week and talk about it. I asked her too if my boss had told her how I offered to do the shopping and preparation of the food for the 2 events that will be taking place. And she told me that no she had failed to mention that to her. I figured that she hadn't told her that. Well I'll have to do a whole lot of praying before Monday. As for my doctor that ordered the MRI he has only been my doc for a year and he doesn't seem to understand that I know what works and what doesn't for me. He's the orthapedic surgeon that did my hands. If I do have to have shoulder surgery he is really good and does an excellent job. My pain doctor was the one that had ordered the other two MRI and he is the one that gave me the ativan when I asked for something. He does listen to me and really works with me to try to get the pain situation under control.

Joy, sorry to hear about your mom. I hope they can get her feeling better real soon. I'll put her on the prayer chain too. How are you doing?

The local hospital should have a line that you can call to ask questions and get advice any time. You really should go to the ER though or an urgent care. It just doesn't sound like a good situation. Animals are wonderful that way. When I feel bad my cats want to snuggle. My favorite one always wants to lay her head on my heart when I feel extra bad.

I love my therapy cats and just like Joy I have one who puts his head right on my heart. Very very comforting. The horses are comforting too but usually just when I have a flake of hay or grain with me! We have a wonderful dog, a Bouvier, but he is NOT a therapy dog (but he is a treat monger). Memphis sounds great (our dog is busy getting into the garbage at night if he can find it!)

Glad you will get to see your grandkids Barb. You must be so proud. Glad your work situation worked out!!

I'm feeling okay. I'm not as swollen today.

I told my friend this is the best group of people I've ever met.
