Hi All,
Kitt, thanks for the good wishes. We are excited about our new place, and although it'll take some getting used to, we're having fun with our newly acquired free time. My husband is playing around with the idea of getting a full time job for a while, but I hope he doesn't. Our state was doing a retirement incentive "55/25"--if you're at least 55 with 25 years of service you can retire without any penalty, (which is a percentage of your retirement for every year before 62). I qualify for it, and it would mean quite a bit more money. Well, it was just for teacher, and a group of administrators wanted in, so they sued the state, so the whole thing is in limbo now. My husband is nervous about the decrease in funds, so that's why he's considering working for a while longer. Oh well...whatever works for him.

I don't envy the work ahead of you. We've been there, believe me. I don't know how we ever got our house ready to sell. It was nonstop work, seven days a week. Good luck with your project, and don't work too hard!

Hi Y'all-
Sorry I have been scarce around here lately. Trying to get caught up. Reading about moving and fixing houses gets me to thinking of all the moving I did in the Navy. Seemed like we moved every year.
Well I went against my GI and stopped taking the Prilosec about 4 or 6 weeks ago and the nasty tastes have gone away. Going to keep this up for a couple more months and see what happens at my yearly EGD. We shall see what happens.
Softball wise we did well. Took 2nd place. Had 1 bad inning and that cost us the game. My daughter hit 2 off the top of the fence this weekend. She sure does surprise out of town teams who think that because she is only 5'3" she can't hit hard. The look on their faces when she blasts one to the fence is priceless!

It sounds like you're making lots of progress! My son just bought a house with lots of hardwood floors and they squeak terribly. The stairs are a musical instrument. We've joked that he or future children won't be able to sneak in at night!

Oh yes...I know that feeling! All that planning and setting up your classroom. Doesn't everything seem so clear and perfectly planned until those little darlings arrive and throw everything into an uproar? Good luck, Joy. This is the first summer I haven't had that on my mind, and it's a nice treat. I do have the pleasure of planning for and executing an hour lesson a week with the little boy I'm tutoring. It just keeps my fingers into teaching a little bit.

Good to see you back. I'm glad that you've been so busy and happily engaged with your sweet little granddaughter that you haven't had time to visit us! That great news.

I hope your dentist appointment goes well. We'll have to find a new one now that we've moved. I need to get an appointment with an eye doctor soon, too. I've got very dry eyes, and take Restasis for that. I ended up with herpes on the cornea of my left eye, and had to stop the Restasis as it healed. Now (maybe it's in my head) whenever I start up with the Restasis again, my eye starts to bother me.

Anyway...my stomach has been great, so I didn't take my Carafate as regularly (our schedule was so unpredictable that it wouldn't have been timed right--you know how that goes). It never fails that when I do that, I end up with irritation, and sure enough, my stomach has been back on the warpath. It's beginning to settle down a bit, but has upset my lower GI as well. Oh well...it's no big deal. Just have to wait until it gets back to "normal".

We're looking for a gym, and had free passes to the Y nearby. It's a beautiful facility, but the dues are pretty expensive. We checked out the town rec center that was just opened, and while it's nothing fancy, it's about a mile from our home, and just fine for our needs--at a fraction of the Y's price. They're building a 5 million addition/renovation starting in October which is great, but I'm sure it'll cause some problems until it's built. I guess we've made up our mind to save lots of $$$ and go with the rec center--we're already paying taxes that help support it. Might as well take advantage of that!

Denise, I'm allergic to restasis. My face swells up and my eyelids get very tender. My eye doctor put plugs in my tear ducts and told me to take double fish oil instead. It works fine for me.

My stomach has been tempermental with me today. I kept having to run to the bathroom. I guess the sweet cherries I ate were the culprits. :(

I take the capsules. I made the mistake of buying the chewable, mint flavored kind and felt sick from first bite. So I always get the pill form. I don't use a humidifier/vaporizer it creates mold in my house. I use a ceiling fan and a tower fan also. Our house is always hot in the summer.
Sometimes I use drops like soothe or visine when it's real bad, but it's few and far between.

I live in NE GA. Tennessee is only a two hour drive north for me. My brother used to live near Chattanooga. They usually get light snow around November or December. Their last snow fall was in March. It never got over 3 inches there. Trees begin to bloom in March, grass in late April. It's finished blooming by mid-June. Temps usually 90 to 105 in the hottest part of summer (Mid June to Mid-Sept.). Fall starts cooling off until November.

I'm resting right now...
We spent seven hours on the shake shield today and started nailing down the plywood at 6:00. My brother came over with his two kids and has been helping with the hammering. We have four hammers going in a rotation with six people. When someone gets tired another one takes thier place. My father (the former contractor) is cutting and measuring the wood as we hammer it down. We are all so tired. I don't hear as many hammers going so I need to get back in there. UGH! :(

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!
After spending all day working Friday, I had to drive all day yesterday to get my niece back home. We left at 9:30am yesterday morning stopped at 11:00am to eat in Gainsville. Then hit the road again. We managed to get at her parents house by 2:15pm. We rested for 15 minutes then hit the road again to travel back. We got home at 7:00pm.
I'm so stiff and sore I can barely move. I've done hot soaks, ben-gay, heating pad, and muscle relaxant. I've got muscles hurting that I didn't even know I had! :((
We still have two 2ft sections of plywood to lay down in the livingroom and a hallway to do before we can lay down the laminate Flooring. :((
Well I'm going to sit here on my heating pad for awhile longer and rest.

Doctors need to start listening to their patients and have some sympathy and concern for them as a person not just on diseased part.I've had some awful ones my self. Hope things get better for your cousin.

Joy, I wouldn't make it through day with out . It's the only thing that soothes and warms my aching body. Your house is going to be awesome when it is done. You'll have to make some nice cool ice drinks. Today was a veryone I know pretty much nothing.I still think that. well can't see anymore so time for bed

Joy glad your taking a break. What a big job that is to do. We will have to redo our floors if we decide to move. Well I had to go over to the place that is taking over my job and tour it and meet a bunch of the staff. I was also given a full membership for my husband and me. Woo hoo it's still not going to pay for my pills or cover the extra money I have to try to come up with for copays. Oh well maybe I can transfer to one from this one to TN near my granddaughter. I won't say the name of it on the web because I want to be careful. I still can't believe no one from either place has sat down with me and told me any thing about what changes there will be or any thing. I think the current place I work for is trying to make sure they don't end up paying me any sevrence pay or any thing like that and so I can't come back to them if this doesn't work out. I am going to ask questions of my new boss on the way to the meeting I have to go too about fees. wow that doesn't seem to be a very good use of my time in my book. I hate meetings and trainings. I think my time is better spent with the seniors and the center. Well time for bed. Barb
