I am sorry to hear about your cousin's experience and that is not the way things should work sad to say. When my sister had ovarian cancer we only ran into one Dr. I dared to question and he reminded me that he was a cardiologist and knew what he was talking about. I reminded him that he was talking over my sister who was on a respiratory but not deaf and also let him know that I was a Certified Critical Care Nurse and a Sister besides. The next day he was all humble. I only wish everyone had a family member to advocate for their loved ones as I read so often how people go to the Drs. and come home not knowing why meds and tests have been ordered or prescribed. I do think now is the time to ask for a sit down with someone before you commit to the new position and lose any chance of severance pay. Do thay not have to offer you the position and give you a job description including benefits that you will receive as well as salary? Be your own best advocate as in today's world we really need to look out for our own best interests.

Ktt, I don't plan on taking less money and do more work. If that can work things out then they will have to pay the unemployment benefits. I should know monday. Oh well too tired and drained. Off to bed. Barb

That stinks, Barb! Did the New HR tell you what your going to be doing exactly?
If I was in your position I'd try to find a job where I was appreciated and closer to my family.

Joy, I have no position description yet. The closest thing I have is what was written about me in the senior newsletter which just said I would have added duties in addition to what I currently do. Nothing official though. I have looked at a jobs at senior apartment/assisted living complexes down in TN. I haven't looked around here, but I know how tight jobs are right now. I have 4 immediate family members currently unemployed right now where I live that have been looking for a year so don't know what my chances would even be. I may have to accept this job for the time being just so I can get the house ready to sell and get rid of a lot more stuff. I also think I need to get some kind of schooling and or certification to put on my resume on top of my 10 years of experience and the 15 years from my other job.

Kitt, yeah I didn't get home from the out door until about 2:30am and then have to take my bedtime pills and then an hour later have to take my carafate so that's one of the reasons I was up so late. I wasn't going to go to the outdoor because I was so upset and my eyes looked terrible but one of my little sisters talked me into it. I'm glad I went Despicable Me was funny and heart warming. Robin Hood was really good and it was a new twist with the story focusing on before he became an outlaw. You'll have to check those two out. I've talked to all my sisters today and they can't believe what they did to me at my job. One sister doesn't think I should tell them about the surgery I need on my foot and shoulder until after I sign the papers with them. I don't know what to do about it. I have a friend that had the same shoulder surgery that I need done but he waited many years and they couldn't even fix it all because of all the scar tissue that built up, so I don't want to end up like that since it has already been 3 years. My foot is going to be getting worse again because the shot is already wearing off and he already gave me the shot earlier than he usually does because I scheduled the surgery for it so he wouldn't have to give me future shots. I took a two hour nap this after noon and couldn't even escape from the reality of what has happened as I dreamed about it. Well I suppose I should get ready and look half way presentable because my little sister who's hubby is in a band wants us to come out and hear his band play at a firemans picnic about 20 minutes from us. She told me I need to get out of the house and it's free which is sounding really good to me these days. talk to you later. Barb
