Hello forum! I really need to know some things about
this. My throat lump thing is the one thing that is making me upset, and the main reason is, that it NEVER GOES AWAY!
Do any of you have this 24/7? I mean, sure it has varying intensity, and when its not terrible it just feels like there is food or something stuck, mid range it feels like a tablet in there, stuck, and at worst, it is like someone is strangling me, stopping me breathing. It is very hard to deal with. If it is at its worst at night, I feel like my throat is going up into my nose and a snort/snore happens.
So I have had to concede to the medical professionals, after all the testing, ok, ok, its NOT a lump, I am not gonna die from it...but surely that isn't enough? I want it to stop!
I am in for the gastroscopy tomorrow, and my main massive fear that makes my stomach bottom out and my legs go weak is the docs NOT finding anything and me being left to get on with this lump/globus/spasm/whatever it is for the rest of my life. I am terrified of that. I have heard of people having globus coming and going, but not having it continually like this. I would be very interested to hear from others about
this. To date, I have had this constantly from about
July of 09. I just have no idea what to do.
Things that help:
Eating
Chewing gum
Gastrocote/Gaviscon < Mainly because it coats the throat, not related to the acid bashing thing, I don't think.
Things that make it worse:
Alcohol
Talking lots
Not talking at all
Water, specially cold water.
Please can anyone advise me? I am so miserable!
