Bill, I know how painful that is. I have arthritis that the doc is going to fix and I have a big tear in the rotator cuff and some small ones too. Unfortunately the shots don't really work for that or my arthritic toe anymore. I would much rather just get shots. I am really really not looking forward to having this done let alone 2 body parts at once. Makes me cringe. I'll let you know if it works though.

Denise, That sounds like a good idea to have your records sent so he can have a clear picture on what has worked in the past and what hasn't. I plan on keeping on them about the insurance. To someone with so many health issues the insurance is a life saver.

Joy so glad you are feeling better. My shoulder and foot are acting up. It makes it hard to move about. the pain pill has kicked in so it's time to head to bed. Maybe another full night of sleep will help. Night. Barb

The Carafate is a great idea. Is it a pill or the suspension form. If it's not the suspension, ask for it, because it will coat your esophagus and wrap and make it feel much better.

You'll want to sleep with a wedge or with an elevated bed, so that there is less pressure on your new wrap. Some say that they can lay flat immediately, but that hasn't been my experience.

You're at such an early stage of your recovery that it's too soon to worry!
Just heal and rest. No lifting!

Wow, Kitt! You went through a lot and obviously maintained your composure. Too bad you didn't know the skill level of your first provider, or you could have skipped that interesting experience. I had my last EDG without sedation, and that was one warning I received pre procedure--"Don't bite me!" During the procedure I began to bite down (it must be a natural urge when someone is sticking a big tube down your throat, don't you think?), but he reminded me, and I stopped.

Hey, he/she deserved to be bitten--doing that procedure with so little skill!
Glad you had good news. Sorry that you had a reaction to your delicious ice cream treat. Maybe it was worth it?

I sounds like the same trouble I had in my last EGD. I fought them so much during the first try they had to totally knock me out.

Alcie's wrap is intact yay. I think she has to have a B swallow now to check reflux.

I'm sitting here with a head banging headache and an ice bag on the top of my head. :O
I was in the bathroom awhile ago chasing ants with spray (aggravating boogers!). I stood up suddenly and smacked my head on a medicine cabinet that hangs on the wall.
I let out a yell when I hit it, saw black for a few seconds, and felt my knees buckle for a second. My eyes are still rattling arond in my head.
I now feel a little sleepy. I don't know if it's the knock or exhaustion from the day's work. I'm going to try to stay awake until 9:00 to be sure I don't have a concussion.

Bill we were supposed to go camping this weekend for my hubby's birthday today but too buggy and rain. We have also been cleaning up a basement full of raw sewage since Wednesday. The streets were so flooded on both sides of my house that I couldn't leave for work until it had receeded from the front where my drive way is located. My husband didn't hear the alarm so when I came home at lunch I heard it and went down to find the basement floor and anything on it covered with the disgusting water. at least the old comforters I had thrown down around the drain kept the balck stuff and toilet paper from going all over the place too. It was still contaminated water though so had too bleach every thing. My daughter stayed until 2am to help go through stuff and organize it. Between her and 2 of my sisters we got every thing moved and cleaned under. We threw out tons of junk and are donating a bunch stuff so we don't have so much down there. Then we are putting more shelves on the walls so none of the stuff being stored down there is touching the floor. This is the second time this has happened so most of the stuff was in plastic totes so we just had to dip them in bleach water. And on top of all that stuff I had to deal with the two different HR people about my lack of insurance. Think that might be taken care of as long as they both file the papers that they need to and the one place pays the cobra like they promised. I also had to get all my papers in to the lawyer too. Can we say total stress week!

Kitt, so glad you have that behind you. I hope they figure it out. The worse part is not knowing what is wrong. Only 2 weeks now until I have my surgery. Yuck! I hope it takes care of my pain issues in that area any way. Glad your hubby was there for you through this. My hubby is always there for me no matter what. He is 53 today. I forgot to order his cake until yesterday on my way home and they were able to do it and even had a chocolate cake on hand to decorate. It will have chocolate frosting with white dog bones and paw prints. He loves dogs so much and then I had them put happy birthday grandpa doug as that is the other thing he loves as much as dogs is his grandchildren. we have to call the 3 year old as it is his birthday today also. His mom texted me to tell me when he found the stickers his other grandma had sent with his card he told his mom that the black and white bears are pandas because grandma (me) taught me that. I thought that was so cute. We didn't get his card and gift sent yet but will probably send it with Calebs as his bday is the 28. I can't believe the little guy will be one already.

Rumman, carafate is the best thing ever for someone with gastritis. I have that as well as having had a wrap done for reflux. I still have to follow the same diet as I did before the wrap because otherwise the acid bubbles up through the wrap and I had the tight wrap done. My stomach also hurts if I eat anything I shouldn't. So be real careful about trying stuff you couldn't or shouldn't have ate before the wrap. Good luck with that and keep us updated. Bill Denise, Joy and I have all had wraps done. Theirs have been more recent. Mine was 10 years ago already.

Hi to every one else. Have to run down stairs to set the water alarm near the drain as we are supposed to have heavy rain this am. I have a bag of stuff I can throw down to soak up any moisture. Hope it works or better yet i don't have to try. Barb

Hi Joy - we have some nasty fire ants and less nasty breeds too, here in North Florida. Pesticides make my asthma crazy so we can't use them in the yard or in the house. My husband swears by used coffee grinds he uses them on the ant bed, but I think they would work inside also. It takes longer to get rid of them but it beats an asthma attack anyday!

It's rained off and on all day and temp went down to the 80s. If it wasn't for the rumbles of thunder I'd go out and run in it. :D

Quick update - MIL had heart attack on Thursday and was taken to the hospital per ambulance.  I have spent all of Friday and Saturday sitting with her at the hospital.

My hubby slipped on Wednesday and pulled the ligaments in his ankle so we made a trip to the clinic yesterday morning for Xrays and pain meds and he was not able to go to the hospital yesterday so between taking care of him and being with my MIL I am swamped. 

My niece is in town from North Dakota and is coming over today and tomorrow is my granddaughter's Birthday................WOW.

Thinking of all and will try to be online when I can.
