turn  Hello everyone!  I had my Lap Nissen done 11 weeks ago today.  I'm feeling so much better.  It was rough at first but I'm able to eat anything I want.  I was able to drink real orange juice for the first time in years and it was SOOOO good.  The only issue I'm still having is the fact that I'm never hungry.  If I get busy and forget to eat, I can go 17 or 18 hours without eating.  Granted, it's been a good thing as I'm dropping weight.  I'm down about 20 pounds since surgery and I'm loving that.  It's just a very strange feeling to not feel hungry.  My tummy doesn't growl.  Anyone having this symptom?

In doing the surgery they sometimes cut or damage certain nerves. With me I never feel full. I have to limit my portions or I'll eat until I'm stuffed and hurting.
I wish that they had done to me what they did to you. I need to lose 100+ pounds. :(
Make sure you eat enough to not get low blood sugar.

Glad to hear you are doing better !  I would kindly suggest that you plan and eat a well balanced diet as your body needs the nutrients even thow you do not feel hungry.

Always glad to hear good story's about the surgerey. I am slowly heading toward surgery. I will just be glad to get rid of the annoying pain and heart burn and generally feeling like qwap. But that is a new one, not feeling hungry. I will probably be the other way, cuz I love food.

I had the same problem for a few months after my first surgery. Whatever it was faded eventually and I started to feel hunger on on off. I still miss meals if I'm not paying attention but I usually eat with people so I just eat when they're hungry and that seems to keep me on track.

I love this particular side effect.  I had the surgery relatively fast.  I've had a hiatel hernia for years but in January a CT scan showed it was a paraesphageal hernia.  After tons of testing, I had the surgery in July.  Once I finally got a doctor to say "lets fix it", it was only two weeks later and I was in the operating room.  After some drama in the hospital with my lungs collapsing, I was on the road to recovery.  According to the OR report, my hernia turned out to be 3/4 of my stomach.  While I had acid reflux, that wasn't really my main complaint.  The chest pain was horrible.  Now I can bend over without feeling like my stomach is in my mouth.  I found this forum and it has been a wealth of information for me.  Thank you everyone for posting and I hope that everyone's experience turns out as good as mine has.
