This week my Para-pro put in our spelling list the word "joy" and when she introduced it to the children I yelled out that's my name. The kids had to be convinced that it was really my name. They couldn't believe it.

I had my MRI today. I'll find out the 3rd if I have a worse problem than I thought. They irritated my shoulder by putting my arm in a special cage for the MRI. It's trying to gripe at me right now.

That was so corny. Tell me another I'm "all ears"! :)))


I'm so ready to find out the answer to my shoulder.

Denise, I have a joke for you.

A pregnant woman and her husband were rushing to the hospital with her in labor. On the way they have a wreck and are knocked out. Days later she wakes up to find her twin babies were born while she and her husband were in comas. She finds her brother-in-law at her bedside comforting her. Worried about the babies' names she asked if the doctor had their birth certificates written up yet. The brother-in-law said not to worry he had named the babies for them.

Rolling her eyes she fears the worse because her brother-in-law is a little odd. She asks, "what did you name them?"
"Well", he said, "I named the girl Denise".
The mother smiles at the name in relief. "What did you name the boy?"
"Denephew." was his reply.

I'm out for Christmas break now. We had our Christmas party on Friday and we don't go back until Jan 5th. I'm enjoying the break so far.

Hi all-
Just got back from the GI doctors. He said the area above my wrap looks horrible. definitely Barretts and looking worse than before. He took several biopsies and switched me to Dexilant 60mg once a day for now. Also wants to use the pill camera to see what's going on in my small intestine. He is worried the Barretts has advanced, guess I'll find out on the 31st when I follow up with him. If it has, I will be taking my surgeon's advice and go back to Loyola and see the GI doc there who specializes in Barretts. He also said my wrap was good and tight, so he doesn't know why I am getting so much damage to the area still while taking PPIs twice a day too. Great news for Christmas. He said it has advanced farther up my esophagus than it was just last April. I will take this new PPI for 4 months and redo the EGD and see if it has helped any. Maybe I just had the surgery too late since my score was in the 400s when the did the PH study before my first surgery. I had put it off for about 17 years. Just hated the idea of surgery like most people do.
This might explain the severe shoulder pain the last few months and the nausea the last few weeks he said. The good news is my stomach looks great. He showed me a picture of the area and it really looks nasty. I think he said he took 8 biopsies in that area alone. Oh well, I will worry about it after the holidays!

Happy Day After Christmas! Wow. We had our final big celebration yesterday--visiting my son's girlfriend's family. They were very sweet the past two years, including us in their family celebration so we could be with our son and they could be with their daughter at the same time. It's a lively group, and always fun, but this year I was so, so tired, I had trouble being a good conversationalist!

I had made the mistake of staying up far too late Christmas Eve preparing a special breakfast for my other son, his wife, and sweet little grandchild. I then got up early to get things cooking, and pretty much crashed Christmas afternoon. Live and learn! Breakfast came out good, though!

I hope everyone is relaxing and resting up today! We're done, except that we invited our neighbor for dinner tonight. She doesn't have any family, and I wanted to spend some time with her, to perk up her holiday.

I am so glad to hear your Christmas was all you had dreamed of.  Mine was good too and I will only dwell of the good part of the holiday and let go of the not so good.

Merry Christmas to all!
Everyone but my oldest brother's oldest kids were in my house on Sunday. We even had a girlfriend and a boyfriend thrown in the mix. I couldn't walk without stepping on someone. :)) 25 people in a 7 room house! There were no place to sit down unless you sat on the floor!
Everyone was having a high old time and left in good spirits at 10:30 last night. We still have 6 staying until Wednesday.
Boy, I'm bushed! :P

Jemima was taking an afternoon nap on New Year's Eve before the festivities. After she woke up, she confided to Max, her husband, 'I just dreamed that you gave me a diamond ring for a New Year's present. What do you think it all means?'

'Aha, you'll know tonight,' answered Max smiling broadly.

At midnight , as the New Year was chiming, Max approached Jemima and handed her small package. Delighted and excited she opened it quickly. There in her hand rested a book entitled: 'The meaning of dreams'.

No work until Wednesday and no kids until Thursday. :))

The only problem I had with all the people in my house is all the perfumes and colonges! I'm severely allergic to them and almost everyone who was a guest was perfumed up. :(
My lungs are still trying to recooperate from all the fumes.

I'll be wheezing in the New Year! :)
