Hello All, I haven't posted in months, but have some concerns. My healing has gone reasonably well for someone my age. I am now 63 and had the surgery in July of 09. If I am careful and avoid : chocolate, dairy, grease, too much bread, I am ok. Sometimes I go for days without symptoms. I notice that When I am stressed(Stressful job) I have more discomfort. I am soo skinny though and worry that I am not getting enough nutrients even though I eat. My energy level is good. I have gone from a size 12 to a 6 and didn't even realize how skinny I was becoming until I took out the winter clothes!. Blood pressure and cholesterol levels are great. I just worry that nutrients are not being absorbed. I guess it is a question for my physician at my yearly physical, but wonder about
other people who may be having this same experience. I am naturally a small frame person and I should actually be this thin according to charts, but it is such a change. Hope everyone is progressing well and I look forward to the days , like last weekend (4 days) when I was practically symptom free. I also seem to get a low blood sugar problem from time to time. ALways on the weekend when I am not on my regular schedule and may eat a little differently. I always have oatmeal with applesauce and soy milk for breakfast when I am working and it is great. Never any reaction. Then on the weekend, I might wait to eat or eat something different for a little variety and about
mid-day I get a low blood sugar reaction and feel like I am starving and very shaky. I usually eat something like peanut butter and it goes away, but it is scary. Anyone know if the sugar level thing has any connection to the Nissen? Any thoughts or experiences like this? Love this forum. It has helped me greatly through a surgery I really hated to have, but needed. Happy Fall to everyone.
Love,
Mariacarole
