Hi all! I usually post in other forums, but have a quick question here: I currently take Nexium twice a day for LPR. Recently, I've gotten my schedule for taking it a bit messed up because I didn't want it to interfere with the absorption of some new medications I'm starting. I had been taking it first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and had NO PROBLEMS. Since changing my schedule to try taking it just before meals, I've actually had some reflux when trying to fall asleep, or maybe I should say throat problems, since I don't have heartburn or anything like that with mine.
Anybody have any experiences of what works best for them? I had one doc tell me that not taking it prior to a meal was like "flushing it down the toilet," yet I seemed to do fine if not even better with my old schedule. I'm just not sure what to do - go back to the old schedule but maybe have other meds not work so well, or live with the Nexium not always helping at bedtime. I also take Zantac twice a day: first thing and at bedtime. Oddly, my nighttime reflux was not under good control at all until I started doubling the Z last spring. Lots of gasping awake until then.
