Hi Michelle,
I'll bet you'll be glad to get that surgery over with and start healing again. I'm sorry you have to go through it again, but it's all for a good cause. You can't live with those symptoms.

Well this time around has been far the worst. I woke up from anesthesia shivering so bad I pulled a muscle and bit my lip pretty bad. Then I dozed back out and woke up sweating because I had 20 blankets on me. I didn't sleep a wink because I was hot and those inflatables that go on your legs kept me up. I didn't fully wake up until around 8 last night, surgery was supposed to be at 11 but didn't get in until 1. Came home today around noon. Was fine for a while but then started to get really warm again. I checked my temp a round 3 and it was 103. Took off my layers and opened the window. I had an awful headache, worse than any migraine I've had and I was cold bufot my head was hot so I took my temp again. 104.3. Called the dr and his nurse said it's too early for an infection and to take the meds and go to the er if it wasn't down in an hour. I just took it so I'll have to check it again in a bit. Dr said he moved around my stomach and diaphram and made my wrap longer and tighter. I can still burp. Had some applesauce, scrambled eggs, apple juice, and mashed potatoes today. It is very difficult to take care of the kids now that my daughter is st the stage where she's into everything. My fiance went to second shift this week so I'll be home alone with them after 1. My dr said absolutely no heavy lifting (+10 lbs) for 6 weeks. That's going to be rough. I do have the hiccup type pain that I don't think I had before, if I did it wasn't as severe. I just hope it works this time. I can not do it again. The anesthesia alone kicks my butt more and more every time. Sorry if it's random thoughts thrown in there, the pain meds make me loopy combined with lack of sleep.

My temp has went down but I still have this awful headache, worse than any migraine I've had. From the anesthesia maybe? That's the only reason I'm taking my pain meds. Otherwise everything else it tolerable. I've been getting random pain/pressure where the wrap is, not sure if it's acid trying to come up but it comes out of nowhere and can last a few minutes. I have the nausea patch and I'm afraid to take it off since I was so nauseous at the hospital. I might call tomorrow and see if I can get a prescription since they work better than zofran.

I didn't about the headaches directly but I told the nurse I had one and it was probably from the fever. I think it's from caffiene withdrawals so I had a quarter cup of Folgers Simply Smooth since it's supposed to be easy on the belly. Oh it tasted sooo good! I would be fine if it wasn't for the headache. And now I have a cold and have been sneezing all day. OUCH!! Doing the pillow thing helps a little.

Quick question. I have these hiccup type burps that hurt even when I haven't eaten or drank anything. I'm guessing these are normal but I don't remember having them before.

Happy to say that my headache is gone! That was awful. Still have the sneezes. And I'm super nauseated today. Took 2 zofran so far today with no help. I don't know if it matters but I took that patch off last night. Maybe I should get an unlimited supply!

No sneezing or hiccups today. I did some Christmas shopping today, bad idea. I forgot how busy the stores are! Wow! It was a good thing because I was able to walk slow. I've been living on apple juice which my intestines doesn't really like. So I'm trying some tea. All I had today was maybe half a cup of pudding. I've been so nauseous when I eat. Popping zofran like candy. I hope that stops soon.

I didn't really have a choice to go shopping since I haven't even started. Oops! But I got it all done yesterday. I've been able to sleep on my side which is wonderful! I'm just a little sore now on the left where most of the incisions are and the itch is kicking in. I'm still really swollen. I remember the swelling went down before my week appt so I'm hoping that is the case this time too. I look huge!

Instead of resting, we ventured out again. It was fun! I like watching all the "crazy" people. HA! My swelling is going down finally, of course after I say something. lol My headache is bad worse than ever. I will be asking my dr about that on Wed. I will be taking my strips off today. The itch kept me up last night. It doesn't help I'm allergic to most adhesives, this being one.

You crack me up Bill! LOL I can just imagine stomach leaks aren't fun! All of my incisions are almost fully healed except for the bigger one in the middle. I feel pretty good! Just a little sore on the left if I turn a certain way. I'm constantly hungry, nothing is satisfying. It's going to be hard not having ham this weekend. What's rest?!?! HA I have so much to do before Christmas. The hard part is done, just have to wrap and finish my baking.
