Hello all! I just thought I would update since I haven't been on here in awhile. I see that there are a few who have just had surgery or are about
to, so to you all, GOOD LUCK! I couldn't be happier with my decision to have the Nissen. It has changed my life drastically. I have been on meds for so long! I refluxed with every activity of my life. I have had no sign of reflux since surgery. I have been eating normally now for about
2 weeks. I can eat ANYTHING I want and not have even a hint of reflux. It is a very bizarre, but blessed feeling! I even drank a cup of coffee a few days ago, which normally would have ruined the whole rest of the day with reflux. My bowels have finally adjusted and I am able to add back in some of the high fiber foods I ate before. I am back to my regular exercise, but still get a little winded.
If you are considering this procedure due to failed conservative measures for reflux, I would highly recommend it. Also, if you are recovering from it, hang in there! I am really suprised at how quickly I have been able to advance my diet over the past 2 weeks or so. Just take it slow the first 2 weeks. If you rush it, it is painful!
CAT, How are you doing??? It's been awhile!
