H2 Blockers

Anyone have any luck with any H2 blockers? Ranitidine used to do the trick for me...I am once again going to try Cimetidine, Famotidine and Ranitidine as long as I can avoid side effects, since they seem to work better for me than PPI's.

I had an H2 blocker added to my Nexium for a couple years. It helped a little bit, but by then it was time for surgery for me.

Hi Daniel,

I have been on the combo of Famotidine 40mgs (Generic Pepcid) at bedtime and Zegrid 40mgs in the morning for about 2 1/2 years.... the combo seems to work better than the Zegrid by itself. And my gastro doc said to specifically take the H2 at bedtime and and PPI in the morning. Then for times when I have "break-through" heartburn and nausea through out the day I take liquid Gaviscon....

Talk to your GI it might be worth a try;)
