gerd and phlegm ???

phlegm--phlegm---phlegm.... i get phlegm in my throat same time everyday.. i know im new to this forum so ill give a quick heads up on issues im having,
im 46 yrs old..jan 3- had heart attack due to blood clots in right leg and in both lungs, gal bladder needs to be removed but cant right now because of blood thinners..spent jan 3 to jan 25 in hospital,,,,,
i have felt pretty good for about 2 weeks getting better everyday, i smoked for 31 years and quit on jan 3..{GO FIGURE}..haha.., i take alot of meds-started them all on jan 3...but seems in last 2 weeks i get phlegm in my throat for no reason. weird thing is it starts same time everyday.... and has nothing to do with the time i take my meds?
its clear phlegm--not the smokers phlegm, i have not had a smoke in 50 days....the weird part is if i talk it gets worse...???? meaning phlegm builds up faster in throat..
my doc has tried inflam meds,musinex,etc...no help... i posted this here because i have gerd and was wondering if that has anything to do with it...

You could try OTC meds - Mucinex 12 hour, netti pot, saline sprays ... Maybe a little Vapo Rub under nose. Don't use antihistamines to dry it up. You can cause sinus infections that way.

I make up a sinus rinse with 1 cup water, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp baby shampoo, put just what I'm going to use immediately in my tiny teapot (instead of bying an "official netti pot), lean over the kitchen sink and pour it in one nostril until it comes out the other, then switch sides.

Yes, GERD can cause phlegm. Make sure you aren't eating in the evening, not drinking milk. Tea OK.

Part of the object is to liquify the secretions so the cilia in the sinuses can remove the gunk, yes, down the throat.

Make sure doc has checked you for pneumonia, sinus infections. Lying around after a heart attack isn't fun. Had one.

well figureing it was a sinus issue i used a spray for sinuses,,,oopps big mistake- ended up in hospital --it didnt agree with my blood thinner meds...i get my blood checked every week due to taken blood thinners. 2.0 to 3.0 is the reading i have to be...after taken the spray i dropped down to .05 ooops...wont do that again....but while i was useing the spray it didnt change anything in the amount of phlegm in my throat..
