is Prevacid better than Zegerid?

Welcome to the forum. A lot of people get different effectiveness from PPIs. I have had good result with Prevacid myself and used it for a couple years. I really have no way to tell you which one is actually better. Seems most people have a couple that don't agree with them and a few that are alright, but usually have one or 2 that seem to work good. I know this isn't really answering your question, but there are several different ones out there and sometimes you find the right one right away sometimes it takes a few tries. Also PPIs like prevacid aren't usually good for taking once heartburn hits. They are a maintenance thing and you might not see results for a week or so.

I have tried Prevacid, Zantac, Prilosec, Protonix and Zegerid has worked the best for me with the least side effects. At first it made me tired and had a bit of a headache but I now take it daily and have had good results. There are still some bad days but not like it use to be that is for sure. Good luck!

I've been on Prevacid for about 3 years,it works good for me,I have some minor side effects but not too bad,tried the generic version of Prevacid and a big side effect was my throat felt like it was closing,last week I went to my GI doctor and asked if I could try the generic version of Protonix,reasoning was it's much cheaper in price,I took it for a week and I got headaches and itchy skin,now i'm back on Prevacid.
