Yay, Laura! You're now a full-fledged member of our
Wrapped Club!
It's good to hear you're walking...you should walk as much as you possibly can. If you take a walk around the hospital halls, or around your house every time you get up to go to the bathroom, it will help to get rid of the gas they pumped into your abdomen to
open up the surgical field, so they could see what they were doing. Often people get shoulder pain from that, and you'll want to keep that at bay.
You'll be much more comfortable when they send you home, and you have more control over your environment.
Congratulations! You are on the other side...starting to heal and be free of all those GERD symptoms you suffered with. Be sure to stick around to ask questions as they come up!
Heal Well!
