Hi I am still having problems after Lap Nissen fundoplication 10/20/10.
I am really frustrated. I had TIF surgery apr 9, 2010 and lap nissen fundoplication 10/20/10.
I still have burning nose and tongue. I had the stomach emptying test and that was normal. I had the barium swallow and visit with the surgeon mar 22, 2011. that showed no reflux. Now I have a scope and the bravo scheduled April 14. Sure does take a long time to get an appt.
The last time I had the ph wire test and that showed no acid. I cant figure that out because I showed reflux. The only thing I can think I messed up on taking the meds too long for acid reflux, but I sure dont think so.
I feel pretty sure I am getting reflux, but it didnt show up. I was really disgusted with my test as they were running late and did the test without the thicker drink mix and didnt use the fizzy crystals. I had the appt. with the surgeon following this test. I kind of feel my little home town hospital did better than they did.
I have been taking prilosec and getting kind of nervous about the Bravo test. I am afraid it wont show acid because of the meds. This burning is getting to me. Chewing lots of gum, it seems to help.
The next step will be to check to see if I am having a reaction to some of my meds or possibly nerve damage from the TIF surgery.
I dont really think I have nerve damage, but I am not a doctor. The reason I say this is because when I use baking soda rinse that kind of lessens the burn I have on my tongue and throat.
ok thanks for letting me vent.
