When you read through it looks like they mean patients for whom ppis do not work, rather than patients who cannot tolerate the ppi drugs, but it is interesting. I have wondered whether the constant acid reflux means we all have some hypersensitivity of the oesophagus. The article also made me wonder if St John's Wort would help some people, but I'm not sure about taking it alongside ppis. The herb can cause sun sensitivity, as do ppis, so possibly not a good idea to combine that particular side effect. If I ever get properly off ppis I might try St John's Wort!
