I'm having a big problem too, I just had my second visit to my ENT and have a swollen red throat--acid reflux coming up all the way into my throat. My first GI visit is next Tuesday. My stomach feels like a balloon, I've already lost 5 lbs and I've always been small and thin so I look really sick. Every time I try to eat I choke and feel like something is stuck in my throat. This came on so suddenly--I'm a healthy acitve 60 year old woman and could eat anything without it bothering me. Here's some soft foods you might try to keep some nutrition in your body -- that will go down easy with out making you choke. I sip chamomile herb tea, papaya juice---both of these are very soothing to my throat. I drink Ensure every day, it's expensive but has all the essential vitamins, yogart the kind with the active live cultures and bananas I have no problem swallowing. I munch on cherrios,
I never thought I would see the day I would eat that stuff, to me it has no taste, but if I chew a few at a time it doesn't make me choke and provides some fiber. I can eat mashed potatoe's. I've noticed a little little improvement in the lump in my throat but my ENT said it's going to take months. We're all in this together, so just know you're not alone and we're here to support each other. Jan
