Alcohol and Reflux?

Have there been any studies done to see if Alcohol lowers the Lower Esophageal Sphincter pressure LONG Term or for a while after you consume it. Or does it just lower the pressure while your body is metabolizing the alcohol and while it is in your blood stream?

short term, dose dependant
i suspect that longer term effects at moderate an high doses degrade the les and nerve function
