What are some good remedies for sore throats when you have acid reflux?
i tried Lozenges from slippery elm---need somthing else
Taking DGL helps but want something else for immediate soothing of the throat?
Anyone has advise on natural remedies for heartburn?

Have you tried warm salt water gargling? Sometimes chewing gum helps.

i have read that hexylresorcinol an ingredient in some cough drops, neutralizes pepsin although i can only find two references in support of this idea
alternatively, aloe juice and honey are very soothing

I have used something called throat comfort tea which has marshmallow in it. It worked for sore throat associated with colds and flu, but I have't dared try it with GERD as any kind of tea gives me big trouble. Chewable licorice seems to coat my throat a little bit, as does gaviscon.

Gaviscon is over the counter seaweed based gloop that is meant to put a "floating layer" over the top of your stomach, as a barrier between the acid and everything above the LES.

Over here in the UK pregnant women use it a lot, though there are worries about
the aluminium it contains (well some people worry........ I was too sick to worry!!). I use it occasionally now, but I don't think I could face it if I was feeling a bit pukey - I can't say if that's because it really would make me more sick or whether it's just the memory of the endless pregnancy vomiting..... (well obviously it did end after 9 months........!!).
Salt water would definitely make me feel sick too!!
You tried aloe vera?

I had asked the same question recently. Per the suggestions of others, I have tried warm salt water and baking soda gargles and honey, both seem to help a bit.
